Random Access Memory (RAM) -This is the instant memory the computer uses to run the applications that are open. the more RAM the computer has, the more things it can do at any one time. It is the combination of the RAM and processor that dictates the speed of the computer
Read-Only Memory (ROM) -
memory read at high speed but not capable of being changed by program instructions.
World Wide Web –an information system on the Internet that allows documents to be connected to other documents by hypertext links, enabling the user to search for information by moving from one document to another.
Data (computer) – Distinct pieces of information, usually formatted in a special way. All software is divided into two general categories: data and programs. Programs are collections of instructions for manipulating data.
Program - An organized list of instructions that, when executed, causes the computer to behave in a predetermined manner. Without programs, computers are useless
Hypertext – A special type of database system, invented by Ted Nelson in the 1960s, in which objects (text, pictures, music, programs, and so on) can be creatively linked to each other.
Hardware – Refers to objects that you can actually touch, like disks, disk drives, display screens, keyboards, printers, boards, and chips
Software – Software means computer instructions or data. Anything that can be stored electronically is software.
Title (resource) – The name by which the resource is formally known
Creator (resource) – The person, organization or service who made the content of the resource, for instance, the writer of an article or the photographer who took a picture.
Subject (resource) -One of the topics of the resource. It is usual to choose keywords from an accepted classification scheme as the subject.
Publisher (resource) -The publisher is “responsible for making the resource available”. This might be a commercial publisher, an academic institution or an individual.
Contributor (webpage) – A person or organization that has contributed to the content.
Format (resource) -The type of media of the resource
MP3 – a means of compressing a sound sequence into a very small file, to enable digital storage and transmission.
Cyberbully-involves the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others.
Database-
a structured set of data held in a computer, esp. one that is accessible in various ways.
Desktop - a personal computer small enough to fit conveniently in an individual workspace

Home page - An introductory screen on a web page on the World Wide Web, used to welcome visitors. A home page can include special text or graphics on which you click to jump to related information on other pages on the Web.
Keyboard - The hardware device used to enter letters into the computer.
Keyword A word or reference point used to describe content on a web page that search engines use to properly index the page.
Password - A code for the security protection to allow access to a computer or the computer programs.
Paste - To insert the last information that was cut or copied into a document. Cut and paste can be used to move information within or between documents.
Search Engines - Software that searches, gathers and identifies information from a database based on keywords, indices, titles and text.
